Flipkart and Myntra are facing worker strike issue

An E-commerce organization is highly dependent on its delivery employees, as they are the people who act as a link between the consumer and the organization. Flipkart has been praised a lot in the past for the employee benefits, such as maternity leave, that it offers to its employees but the delivery staff of Flipkart is not happy with the organization.

It is been reported that more than 400 delivery employees of Flipkart and Myntra have halted the work and are on strike, since few days. The reason that is being heard for the strike is absence of basic amenities, such as toilet, long working hours that too with seven days working.

Hindu Business Line reported, “The striking workers have given the company a list of demands, including seeking access to proper washrooms and getting a weekly off on Sundays.”

However, in the same post, the newspaper has written that Flipkart’s logistics associate eKart has denied any news about the strike and stated that the working in Mumbai is going absolutely fine.

Canon's New Camera Sees More In the Dark Than You Ever Thought Possible

Anyone who’s ever been frustrated at the task of shooting video in low light should be poised to freak out over Canon’s weird and amazing new camera. It’s a video camera that shoots full HD color footage in almost complete darkness.

The ‘multi-purpose’ camera, dubbed only MH20F-SH, has a full-frame sensor with 2.26 megapixels. The reason for the meager resolution is because each pixel is very large—19 microns to be exact. That’s 7.5x larger than, say, the pixels found on a flagship DSLR like the Canon 1Dx. Huge pixels mean they can capture a huge amount of light.

In this case, Canon’s sensor reaches an insane 4,000,000 ISO. Yeah, four million. Basically it sees better in the dark than you can. Remember, this is without infrared night vision tricks. It’s normal color 1080p video at 24, 30, or 60 fps.

Before you get excited at what this means for your gritty neo-noir short film set in an dark alley, let me tell you that this camera is not meant for most consumers. First off, it’s $30,000. And it’s made for “industrial” uses. Not sure what that really means, but Canon mentioned things like nighttime surveillance and wildlife documentaries. Something tells me many crazies will think of other cool uses for it. It’s pretty small, at about 4 x 4 x 4 inches, so that will make it versatile for interesting shooting situations.

Trend Micro Discovers Vulnerability That Renders Android Devices Silent

Researchers have developed an attack that puts more than 50 percent of Android phones into the digital equivalent of a persistent vegetative state in which they're almost completely unresponsive and are unable to perform most functions, including making or receiving calls.

The vulnerability, which resides in the mediaserver service Android uses to index media files, can most easily be exploited by luring a vulnerable phone to a booby-trapped website. Presumably, the phone can be revived by restarting it, but according to a blog post published Wednesday by a researcher from security firm Trend Micro, the bug can also be exploited by malicious apps. In this latter scenario, the malicious app could be designed to automatically start each time the phone is turned on, causing it to crash shortly after each restart.

The Vulnerability Bug

The vulnerability lies in the mediaserver service, which is used by Android to index media files that are located on the Android device. This service cannot correctly process a malformed video file using the Matroska container (usually with the .mkv extension). When the process opens a malformed MKV file, the service may crash (and with it, the rest of the operating system).

The vulnerability is caused by an integer overflow when the mediaserver service parses an MKV file. It reads memory out of buffer or writes data to NULL
address when parsing audio data.

The vulnerability affects Android versions 4.3 through the current 5.1.1, accounting for about half of the Android user base. The bug surfaced two days after separate researchers warned that an estimated 950 million Android phones can be hijacked by being sent a simple text message. The so-called Stagefright bug is more serious because it allows attackers to pilfer audio, video, and other personal data from handsets and, in some cases, allows the execution of malicious code. What's more, in many cases, Stagefright attacks require no end-user interaction at all for the vulnerability to be exploited.

Trend Micro privately reported the mediaserver vulnerability to Google in late May. Google engineers have acknowledged the bug but have assigned it a low priority, Trend Micro's Wu said.
